Ethics and Transparency

  1. The members of the Administration Board of SPP Foundation, the employees of the Foundation and other permanent staff, including their close persons and organisations, in which they are employed on a full-time basis or are in a similar relationship, or for which they work as suppliers of contracted services, may not apply for a grant from SPP Foundation.

  2. The members of evaluation panels established under SPP Foundation’s schemes, including their close persons and organisations, in which they are employed on a full-time basis or are in a similar relationship, or for which they work as suppliers of contracted services, may not apply for a grant under the scheme, in which they serve as members of the evaluation panel.

  3. The members of the Administration Board of SPP Foundation, the employees and other full-time workers of SPP Foundation may not enjoy any financial or other material benefit from awarded grants, and this in any stage of the project.

  4. The employees and other permanent staff of SPP Foundation, members of the Administration Board of SPP Foundation, members of advisory councils and persons close to them who
    • a) are voluntary members of some other non-governmental organisation and, at the same time,
    • b) do not enjoy any financial or other material benefit from grants awarded to these organisations under SPP Foundation’s schemes, where such non-governmental organisations apply for a grant, are not in the conflict of interest. However, they are required to notify this fact to the respective decision-making body and, in those cases, they must abstain from participating in the decision-making.

  5. The Administration Board of SPP Foundation reserves the right to consider, on an individual basis, any other case as constituting conflict of interest, if it is likely that any support provided to the given applicant may suggest close, even informal, connection between the awarding body and the supported organisation, or where such support may endanger the public perception of SPP Foundation’s integrity.

  6. The obligation of SPP Foundation to respond to any questions or suggestions within 30 days.

Notes:
Pursuant to Section 116 of the Civil Code, the term “close person” means a direct-line relative, a sibling, a spouse, or possibly other persons in a family or similar relationship where any harm suffered by one of them is justifiably perceived by the other as his/her own harm.

The term “employment relationship or other similar relationship” means the labour-law relationship under the Labour Code (Act No. 311/2001 Coll., as amended).

The term “suppliers of contracted services” means contractual performance on the basis of a commercial or civil contract involving the supply of goods and/or services.
